Part Time Applied Theology
Course Summary
This course aims to give students with a basic to moderate Bible knowledge a deeper grounding and a thorough overview of the main themes of the Bible, and how the books of the Bible are related to each other. Unlike many other theological courses, a key emphasis of this course is applied theology, where biblical teaching is related to the every day life of the believer.
As well as studying specific books, students will be studying church history from the time of the apostles until now.
This course is tailored to help those who want a deeper knowledge of the Bible, or who are seeking to have a theological grounding for going into ministry.

The Kingdom of God
The Spiritual Realm
Eschatology
Theology of Suffering
Faith and every day life
Biblical History and much more...
Students will be taught how to exegete the scriptures effectively, as well as gaining an understanding of how the Church came to exist in it's present form. Part of the course involves a study trip to Israel and the West Bank in February.
Assessments
Throughout the course you will be set assignments to further research key course areas. In addition there will be periodic assessments.
Requirements of Students
Students need to be a committed disciple of Jesus and be able to provide a positive reference from their home church.
Students will need to be part of Freedom Bath+Bristol for the duration of the course.
Students under 25 will need to have completed studies up to at least A level standard and preferably have a degree. Mature students need to show an aptitude for study and theological understanding.
Timetable
The duration of the course is one year, split into three terms of teaching over a day and a half per week.
Fees
The course costs £1200 a year or £400 a term, split over three 10 week terms. Payment is required termly in advance.
The cost of the Study Trip to Israel is in addition to the course cost, and students are responsible for raising their own funds for the trip.
